Cotten died on 9 November 2018 and his death certificate and NOC was made by the local municipality and the police respectively. Also, it requested to return his body to Nova Scotia.
As per the Washington Post, Gerald’s body came back in a closed casket and no one could actually confirm if his body was present in it. The exhumation of his body and an autopsy were considered but it has not been done until this date.
